SWISS HELICOPTER COMPANY AIR-GLACIERS STANDARDIZES ITS FLEET ON ZOLL MEDICAL'S LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT
December 19 2018—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—Swiss helicopter company Air-Glaciers, whose core business is air rescue, announced today that it is continuing to standardize its fleet of eight aircraft on ZOLL Medical's life-saving equipment. The growing company is purchasing ZOLL® X Series® monitor/defibrillators, AutoPulse® automated CPR devices, and EMV+® portable ventilators. The purchase was facilitated by ZOLL distributor Procamed AG. ZOLL's compact, rugged resuscitation devices are ideally suited for transport and give rescuers the same advanced life-saving capabilities as those available in hospitals.
"Having used ZOLL equipment since 2013, we continue to add more devices to our lifesaving portfolio," said Pascal Bucheli, Air-Glaciers' Head of Quality and Project Management. "In the past two years alone our AutoPulse devices have been used in more than 30 rescue missions. Our X Series monitor/defibrillators are also must-haves. They are compact, and very reliable. They measure parameters quickly and accurately, even with vibrations during flight. These devices can do pretty much everything. With the addition of the EMV+ military-grade portable ventilators we will be able to increase the odds of survival when it's a matter of life-and-death."
The X Series Monitor/Defibrillator
The X Series monitor/defibrillator was designed expressly to meet the demands of professional rescuers working in such extreme conditions as Air-Glaciers' Swiss rescuers might encounter while servicing the Alps. Based on a rugged platform for the military and air medical operations, the X Series provides medics with the powerful capabilities of advanced hospital monitors, yet is about half the size and weight.
The X Series is compact without compromise in capability, performance, or display size. This monitor/defibrillator combines the clinically superior therapeutic capabilities of ZOLL defibrillation, pacing, and CPR assistance with advanced monitoring parameters.
The ZOLL AutoPulse Resuscitation System
The AutoPulse Resuscitation System, designed for Resuscitation on the Move™, provides high-quality automated CPR without interruption to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. When its board is placed on a soft stretcher, rescuers can continue providing high-quality CPR on stairs, around sharp corners, and in cramped places. Easy to use and battery operated, the AutoPulse compresses the patient's entire chest to improve blood flow to the heart and brain1,2,3. Compared with manual CPR, the AutoPulse has been shown to reduce interruptions in compression during transport by more than 85% and can be applied in as little as 14 seconds4.
EMV+ Portable Ventilators
Designed to meet military and civilian transport standards, the versatile EMV+® portable ventilator is ideal for air medical and ambulance transport of infants (≥5 kg), pediatric patients, and adults. Just 9.7 pounds (4.4 kg), the EMV+ is lightweight yet rugged and features an energy-efficient integrated, high-flow compressor and oxygen system. The unprecedented 10-hour battery run-time and multisource power system allow operation and rapid charging with any power source.
For military users, the EMV+ has Airworthiness Release and is safe to fly on rotary and fixed-wing Army, Air Force, and Navy aircraft. The LCD and Silent and Dark mode capability allow operation in all light conditions.
