SuperSaturated Oxygen (SSO2) Therapy

SSO2 Therapy is a novel therapy that complements PCI for treating an acute heart attack. It is designed to restore microvascular blood flow and reduce damage to the heart muscle to improve overall heart function.

The TherOx SSO2 System

The TherOx SSO2 System includes three device components: a console, cartridge, and SSO2 catheter. Together, these components create and deliver SuperSaturated Oxygen (SSO2) Therapy to the patient following an acute heart attack.

How SSO2 Therapy Works

SSO2 provides localized hyperoxemic oxygen for the heart to help it heal after a heart attack. This elevated oxygen concentration enables increased diffusion of oxygen to ischemic tissue. Immediately following successful PCI, SSO2 is delivered via catheter to the myocardial tissue which may be at risk of permanent loss.
