February 21, 2018—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, today announced that the ZOLL 2018 EMT Scholarship Program is now open for applications.

Candidates can submit their applications online at www.zoll.com/medical-markets/ems/emt-scholarship between now and April 15. The winners will be announced during EMS Week in May 2018.

The intent of the ZOLL EMT Scholarship Program is to award medical education grants annually to up to 12 qualifying EMTs who demonstrate a career commitment to the profession. The goal of the program is to support the education of EMTs (EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced) who are working toward their paramedic certification (EMT-P).

“As we embark on the third year of this program, ZOLL’s commitment to strengthening the profession remains strong,” said A. Ernest Whiton, President of ZOLL Resuscitation. He continued, “This program has a dual payoff. Not only does the profession benefit from the advancement of these candidates, but so do the communities and patients they eventually will serve.”

The scholarships are valid for credits earned in degree curriculums or other independent, nationally certified programs where the intent is to prepare participants for paramedic certification at the state or national level.
