ZOLL TO SHOWCASE RESUSCITATION, TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT DEVICES AT 2012 ENA ANNUAL CONFERENCE

September 10, 2012—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL Medical Corporation, a manufacturer of resuscitation devices and related software solutions, today announced that it will display its fully integrated resuscitation and data management solutions in booth #515 at the 2012 Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Annual Conference, September 13–15 in San Diego.

Products favored by the nation’s top healthcare institutions will be showcased, including the R Series® Code-Ready® family of defibrillators for hospitals, the X Series™ defibrillator for patient transport, and the AutoPulse® Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump.

“The ZOLL R Series defibrillators feature exclusive technology that sets a new standard for simplicity and operational readiness for in-hospital resuscitation efforts,” said ZOLL President Jonathan A. Rennert. “And our AutoPulse delivers automated, consistent chest compressions to continuously circulate blood to the hearts and brains of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) victims. Compressions continue even during transport, providing the best possible patient care.”

ZOLL Defibrillators—Real CPR Help

As a result of ZOLL’s focus on high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), virtually all of the company’s defibrillators feature auditory and visual Real CPR Help®, which provides rescuers with constant real-time depth and rate feedback to optimize CPR efforts.

The ZOLL R Series and X Series defibrillators also offer See-Thru CPR®, a breakthrough technology that filters out CPR artifact from the ECG to help rescuers minimize the duration of CPR interruptions.

The compact X Series, based on a platform developed for the military and air medical operations, rises to a new standard in ruggedness and durability at a low weight of only 12 pounds, with no compromise in display size, capability, or performance.

The Revolutionary AutoPulse

The AutoPulse is an automated, portable chest compression device with an easy-to-use, load-distributing LifeBand® that squeezes the entire chest, improving blood flow to the heart and brain during sudden cardiac arrest. The AutoPulse delivers high-quality, uninterrupted CPR chest compressions to maintain myocardial and cerebral perfusion even when moving patients, traveling in an ambulance, or while a patient is undergoing emergency catheterization. Additionally, it offers the benefit of freeing up clinicians to focus on other life-saving interventions.

Additional products to support resuscitation displayed at ENA

The ZOLL Intravascular Temperature Management (IVTM™) system provides precise and rapid control of a patient's core temperature for both cooling and warming applications. Cool or warm saline is circulated within a closed-loop multiballoon catheter that is inserted into a patient’s vein. The patient is cooled or warmed as venous blood passes over each balloon.

For data management, the CodeNet® Resuscitation Data Management System documents events as they occur, capturing data that can easily be printed or scanned and uploaded to an electronic medical record (EMR).
