ZOLL TO DEMONSTRATE ADVANCED RESUSCITATION TECHNOLOGIES AND INTEGRATED DATA MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS AT EMS TODAY 2012

March 1, 2012 - CHELMSFORD, MASS. - ZOLL Medical Corporation (Nasdaq GS: ZOLL), a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, will demonstrate the company’s portfolio of advanced resuscitation technologies and integrated data management solutions in Booth #2607 at EMS Today March 1-3 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

ZOLL will be showcasing the AutoPulse® Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump, an automated, portable device with an easy-to-use, load-distributing LifeBand® that squeezes the entire chest, providing unique thoracic compressions that generate near-normal perfusion. The hands–free approach for chest compressions frees rescuers to attend to other life-saving interventions.

New additions to ZOLL’s RescueNet® Data Management Suite for EMS include RescueNet 12-Lead, RescueNet Link, and RescueNet@Work. RescueNet® 12-Lead is an advanced and versatile system that allows health care providers to easily acquire and transmit ECG information from the field into the cath lab to assist clinicians in meeting standards for door-to-balloon times. The system is free for both EMS and hospital operations, allowing them to receive and manage 12-lead ECGs from just about anywhere.

Newly FDA-approved RescueNet® Link provides seamless information sharing between the ZOLL E Series®, RescueNet ePCR patient care reporting program, and RescueNet Navigator vehicle mapping. RescueNet Link uses revolutionary Sense and Sync™ technology to communicate data from multiple resources in multiple locations, giving health care providers critical decision support tools across the pre-hospital emergency care system. Real-time information is continuously delivered, eliminating manual intervention and facilitating time-sensitive patient care decisions that advance patient care.

RescueNet@Work provides an instant connection to your dispatch operation from anywhere web access is available. Current work, vehicle location, past trips, coverage snapshots, billable mileage–all the critical information that passes through a dispatch center–is available without the purchase of an additional dispatch license. A 30-day free trial is available.

ZOLL Play Zone in Booth #4107 for a Firsthand User Experience

As part of the activities at EMS Today, ZOLL has created the ZOLL Play Zone in Booth #4107 to give EMS personnel an interactive experience with ZOLL’s advanced technology products. In this display area that is separate from the ZOLL exhibit, staff from the CIRC Trial sites will be on hand to demonstrate the Pit Crew application for the AutoPulse, a concept designed to minimize interruptions in chest compressions and help ensure high-quality CPR. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their CPR skills with coaching from CIRC staff, and compete in a CPR Challenge. Play Zone visitors will also have a chance to simulate ZOLL RescueNet 12-Lead, and see virtual transmissions from the field to the hospital.

Complimentary Lunch and Learn: Man vs. Machine–Analyzing the CIRC Trial

Two noted experts in pre-hospital resuscitation care, Jerry Overton, MPA, former Chief Executive Officer, Richmond, Virginia Ambulance Authority, and Allan Braslow, PhD, Co-Chair, University of Pennsylvania's Special Task Force on Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survival, debate the merits of manual chest compressions vs. load distributing band compressions and analyze the results of the landmark CIRC Trial. This session will be held Friday, March 2, 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. in BCC Room 316.

ZOLL’s Complete Line of Integrated EMS Solutions will be on Display in Booth #2607

All ZOLL defibrillators, from AEDs to ACLS, feature Real CPR Help® audio and visual feedback for the correct depth and rate, and tracking of idle time. The E Series® defibrillators and the AED Pro® also offer See-Thru CPR®, a breakthrough technology that filters out CPR artifact from the ECG to reduce durations of CPR interruptions. In addition, the RescueNet Data Management Suite for EMS and Fire comprises the only fully integrated information management system that has the ability to improve clinical and operational performance by collecting and analyzing data across EMS or Fire organizations.
