Primary Purpose:

Directs the activities of the Inventory Group to include Receiving, Warehousing, Cycle Counting and Shipping.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and maintains the operational procedures governing the daily activities of the Inventory Control group. 
  • Through direct supervision and through the use of lead personnel manages the receiving, warehousing, internal distribution, cycle counting and shipping of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of inventory levels (data) maintained in the Inventory Control System (Oracle).
  • Ensures all system (Oracle) transactions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Directs and/or performs cycle counting activities adjusting/reporting on-hand inventories to include materials classified as work in progress (WIP), and reporting deliveries. Fully supports quarterly or other scheduled inventory counts.
  • Regularly confers with Materials Manager, Purchasing and Manufacturing department heads to ensure that all required materials are being received and distributed in a timely manner. Initiates direct action to correct deficiencies and support manufacturing efforts. Reports problems to the Materials Manager.
  • Ensures subordinate personnel are properly trained and capable of performing their assigned duties in a safe, efficient manner.  Monitors work areas to ensure areas are properly maintained, safety equipment is being utilized and required maintenance is being performed on equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides direction and supervision to all Inventory Control personnel either directly or through lead personnel.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include (in conjunction with the Materials Manager) training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting in appraising performance; recommending rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures all work is conducted in a safe, efficient manner and that the warehouse is maintained in a neat, orderly fashion. Verify all transactions and receipts using ERP system.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or technical school; and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  A minimum of one year’s supervisory experience is required
  • Must have experience with forklift operation and other material handling equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP inventory control databases
  • Prior cycle count experience with demonstrated results

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess a valid state driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
