Job Summary: Develops, documents, executes, and maintains software verification procedures, software testing tools, and associate tracing to support development of ZOLL products in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads self and sometimes a small team or project group
  • Analyzes and creates verification tests for software requirements
  • Develops, documents, reviews, and maintains high quality software verification procedures
  • Plans or assists with planning verification activities for software projects, including effort estimates
  • Performs software integration activities for integrating software to software or hardware subsystems
  • Executes verification procedures
  • Reports own progress toward performance and schedule objectives.
  • Identifies technical risks, problems, and workarounds
  • Creates or specifies software and hardware tools and fixtures to support software testing
  • Participates in all aspects of the software development life cycle including maintaining test protocols and requirement tracing.
  • Stays current with software test methodologies and trends through activities such as self-study, webinars, seminars, user group meetings, and conferences
  • Follows ZOLL's standard operating procedures and software test engineering best practices
  • Mentors, guides, and supports less experienced software test engineers
  • Collaborates with team members and contributes to positive environment that creates high quality solutions

Skill Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of embedded software test or embedded software development experience
  • Experience with software development life cycle tools including bug tracking

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related engineering or science discipline

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and affinity for teamwork, logic, innovation, initiative and self-sufficiency
  • Experience in a structured development environment with design controls
  • Experience with Scrum
  • Experience with medical device software development
  • Experience with DOORS
  • Experience with electrical engineering tools (scopes, analyzers, etc.)
  • Experience developing test automation
