Job purpose

BI Developer will serve as a member of the “Business Intelligence & Reporting” team, that is responsible for collaborating with existing team members in building BI solutions (Analytics, Automation, data engineering/integration, data modeling, data visualization and data warehousing).

This role will support continuous improvement for the existing Azure hybrid cloud architecture platform for data analytics & BI reporting and implement additional data models as needed (Facts & Dimensions).  

BI Developer needs to be familiar with Azure ecosystem and possess best practices of CI/CD and SDLC.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create database objects like Tables, Views, Stored Procedures based on the requirement.

  • Work with Azure DevOps Repos to use existing CI/CD pipelines or create new Azure Data Factory Pipelines to orchestrate the data flows from On-Prem Sources to Azure.

  • Create or modify linked Services, Triggers and schedule Pipeline runs, Monitor and debug pipeline failures and use of Logic apps for notification.

  • Evaluate/Troubleshoot system performance and make technical recommendations to resolve any legacy report performance issues related to SSRS, ETL and SSIS packages.

  • Follow Teams Azure DevOps Agile/Sprints to work as an Agile Team to collaborate, set priorities of business stakeholders, for accountability and to perform at full capacity.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, or equivalent.

  • 4+ years of experience with Azure Cloud services and Cloud ecosystem.

  • Expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) in orchestrating data workflows.

  • Experience in design of logical data models and Datawarehouse Dimension & Facts data models in Azure SQL Database.

Working conditions

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet.  Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision.  The work will require significant computer and telephone work.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
