Position Summary:

The Assembler I’s primary function will be to perform light mechanical assembly and electronic assembly tasks as assigned.  This includes the repair, assembly or disassembly of various devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works under direct supervision. 
  • Applies basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. 
  • Performs routine assembly, modification and repair of electronic and electrical assemblies. 
  • Working from noncomplex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, sketches and running sheets, performs initial and basic wiring and assembly operations to complete prototype and production units. 
  • Completes wiring connections from one terminal point to another and solders each terminal, working to close tolerances. 
  • Uses judgment in reworking or rewiring any unit to bring it within quality control specifications. 
  • Refers complex or non-routine reworking or rewiring to supervisor or lead assembler.
  • Performs other duties as directed by Management

Education and/or Experience                                                  

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 0 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
