Barre, Vermont, firefighters have given 81-year-old Joe Ryan a chance to meet his 5th great-grandchild. Thanks to the quick action of firefighters David Gladding and Bob Brown and their use of the AutoPulse®, Ryan is alive today. The AutoPulse non-invasive cardiac support pump was purchased through community donations and grants for the Barre City Fire Department. It has been used 8 times in the past two years and has helped save 6 people. In addition to helping save victims' lives, the AutoPulse also ensures rescuer safety during transport in an ambulance.
