February 14, 2013 -After winning an AED Plus®
from ZOLL in a drawing last fall, Gordon Burnside had a decision to
make. As a condition of the drawing, the winner had to donate the AED to
a charity of his or her choosing. Burnside chose the Salvation Army of
Bay City, Michigan, and recently presented the AED to Major Mike Myers.
Burnside, who is corporate safety director at Pumford Construction in
nearby Saginaw, told the Bay City Times, “I picked Salvation Army because I think they do great work, and it was on their wish list.”
Salvation Army Community Center is used every day by a wide variety of
people, from the 150 men and women who visit the soup kitchen each day
to the kids who come for after-school tutoring and other extracurricular
activities in the evening. Monthly food giveaways draw as many as 1,000
people to the building.
ZOLL frequently holds drawings to give away AED Plus units.
