Software Engineer

This is a temporary role, and is responsible for the design, development, and test of embedded software for ZOLL’s medical device systems in the fields of cardiac resuscitation, therapeutic hypothermia, and cardiopulmonary bypass.

  • Willing to learn new software domains to address future software needs
  • Create embedded software for real-time operation in high-reliability and high-performance systems
  • Collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team to define new features and product improvements
  • Actively share knowledge among co-workers, participate in code review, unit and module testing
  • Participate in all aspects of medical device software using elements of Agile development
  • Experience with real-time operating systems, digital and analog
  • Proficiency in C, C++ (C#, WPF, QT, or other UI experience an advantage)
  • Collaborate with others via object-oriented analysis and design techniques and other methods
  • Use your creativity to problem solve in a team and independently
  • Ability to collaborate with others to define technical approach to projects
  • Ability to work within schedule constraints and clearly communicate design challenges and solutions

Preferred Experience:

  • Software development for electromechanical, thermal, or fluidic control systems
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304 and FDA Guidance for Software Contained in Medical Devices

Education/Training/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of direct experience developing software
  • BS/MS degree in CS/EE/BME or related field
