July 12, 2016–Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently presented Midlands Air Ambulance with a check for more than £18,000. The funds were used to purchase a ZOLL® X Series® monitor/defibrillator and other emergency equipment. Mr. Mason, a supporter of the air ambulance service and an automobile enthusiast, made the donation on behalf of the Henry Surtees Foundation.

John Surtees, a champion motorcycle racer and Formula One driver, established the foundation in memory of his son, who was killed while competing in an automobile race. "I know that every second counts,” said Surtees, “and none more so than for the Air Ambulance Services when accidents or illnesses occur.”

Midlands Air Ambulance is a charity located in the U.K. that averages 2,000 emergency calls per year. It does not receive any government funding.
