ZOLL TECHNOLOGY FOR IMPROVING CPR QUALITY TO BE SHOWCASED AT EMERGENCY CARDIOVASCULAR CARE UPDATE CONFERENCE

December 1, 2015—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today its fully integrated portfolio of resuscitation equipment will be on display during the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update (ECCU) 2015 Conference December 8–10 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. ZOLL’s products are uniquely capable of helping customers achieve the new recommendations of the 2015 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines.

Increasing the quality of CPR has been an ongoing commitment of ZOLL’s since 2002, when it was the first to introduce real-time CPR feedback in its AED Plus®. Today, all ZOLL defibrillators, including the AED Plus, the AED Pro®, the R Series®, the X Series®, and the Propaq® MD for military, feature Real CPR Help® audio and visual feedback for the correct rate, depth, release, and tracking of idle time. Real CPR Help is the only CPR feedback technology that, in combination with training, has been shown to impact survival to discharge, as demonstrated in published research.1

ZOLL’s commitment to high-quality CPR is also evident in the company’s suite of tools for optimal resuscitation response, which includes See-Thru CPR® as well as EtCO2 monitoring. See-Thru CPR, ZOLL’s proprietary technology which minimizes the duration of pauses in CPR by enabling rescuers to see an organized, underlying rhythm, is available on the Propaq MD, the R Series, the X Series, and the AED Pro.

Additionally, the 2015 Guidelines recommend automated CPR devices, such as the AutoPulse® Resuscitation System, as Class IIb, citing their role in performing high-quality CPR when manual CPR is difficult to achieve, such as during patient transport or in the cath lab. ZOLL’s new ResQCPR® System, the first and only CPR device indicated to improve survival from sudden cardiac arrest, was also recommended as Class IIb.

Experience the ZOLL CPR Challenge

Using the AED Pro, ECCU attendees will have a chance to test their CPR skills with and without the benefit of Real CPR Help. ZOLL’s RescueNet® CodeReview software will provide participants with a detailed analysis of their CPR performance. A Fitbit will be given to each day’s top performer.

Additional products related to ZOLL’s resuscitation portfolio include:

  • RescueNet CaseReview simplifies collecting case files. With the push of a button, medics now directly send X Series files to their system. With RescueNet CaseReview, access to case files is as fast as opening a web browser.
  • The 731 Series of portable ventilators, which are the ideal solution for environments ranging from the emergency department to military operations, and every care environment in between. They provide a range of therapies to ventilate and support infants (≥5 kg) through adults. Built on a platform designed for mobility, all of ZOLL’s ventilators weigh less than 10 pounds (<4.5 kg) and feature an unprecedented 10-hour battery run-time.
  • PlusTrac AED Program Management is an interactive, web-based system that ensures the ongoing compliance of AED programs. It can be accessed via an internet connection and a web browser. It provides an innovative solution that is comprehensive yet simple, tracing all of the vital components of an AED program.

Participate in the CPR Saves Lives March

On Thursday, December 10, from 11:25 a.m. to 1:25 p.m., ZOLL, 50 cardiac arrest survivors whose lives were saved with CPR, as well as other exhibitors, will mobilize in a march to bring attention to the hundreds of thousands more lives that could be saved with CPR, AEDs, and better care. Please join us at the Manchester Grand Hyatt as we gather to bring attention to this important message.
