ZOLL HIGHLIGHTS ADVANCED CPR TECHNOLOGIES, DATA INTEGRATION WITH THE X SERIES, AND THE AUTOPULSE AT EMS WORLD EXPO

November 6, 2014—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, will showcase its advanced CPR technologies, data integrated with the X Series® Monitor/Defibrillator, and the AutoPulse® Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump in booth #1605 at the EMS World Expo November 11-13 in Nashville.

Unsurpassed CPR Support

ZOLL’s breakthrough CPR technologies, in conjunction with scenario-based training, have been shown to almost triple survival-to-hospital discharge with favorable neurological outcomes.1 This real-time CPR feedback technology reassures rescuers that their chest compressions are effective. With the CPR Dashboard™ featuring ZOLL’s Real CPR Help® rescuers see numeric displays of CPR quality measures on the X Series that help to drive high-quality CPR. This tool provides real-time information on depth and rate, visual indicators of compression release, and a perfusion performance indicator.

ZOLL’s commitment to improving manual CPR stems from 2002 and Real CPR Help is available on all AEDs and standard defibrillators the company ships. In addition to the X Series, this real-time CPR feedback technology is incorporated into the AED Plus®, the Fully Automatic AED Plus, and the AED Pro®.

Experience the ZOLL CPR Challenge

EMS World Expo attendees will have a chance to test their CPR skills with and without the benefit of Real CPR Help. Using ZOLL’s RescueNet® Code Review software, which provides complete CPR feedback, participants will see a detailed analysis of their CPR performance. A pediatric care “kit” will be given to top performers each day.

Mechanical CPR at Any Angle with the AutoPulse

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the ease with which patients can be moved using the AutoPulse. Participants will maneuver a patient through a course of stairs and tight turns, while the AutoPulse performs continuous compressions.

The AutoPulse is the only mechanical CPR system to have shown improved outcomes in comparative clinical trials. In a meta-analysis of 12 comparative clinical trials, the AutoPulse improved the odds of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by 62% compared to manual CPR.2 The CIRC trial, the largest prospective, randomized trial of mechanical chest compression ever completed, confirmed that the AutoPulse is equivalent to high-quality manual CPR for survival to hospital discharge.3

Advancing Care with Data-driven Solutions

As an advocate on the importance of quality data and data information exchange, ZOLL is pleased to announce that RescueNet ePCR Suite v6.0 has been designated NEMSIS Version 3 compliant. Version 3 is an important step towards harmonizing EMS data with patient data in the hospital.

ZOLL’s RescueNet Suite for EMS and Fire is the only fully integrated information management system that touches the entire Chain of Survival from dispatch through discharge with the ability to improve clinical and operational performance. Key data-driven solutions on display from ZOLL include:

  • RescueNet Dispatch for improved first response coordination using historical data and electronic communication
  • RescueNet ePCR and RescueNet Link for patient care documentation, quality assurance, and data transfer to expedite care
  • RescueNet Billing for quick and accurate reimbursement of services
  • RescueNet 12-Lead for sending and receiving12-lead transmissions from any number of defibrillators and EMS services at no cost to the sender or receiver
  • Road Safety® for modifying driver behavior to improve safety and reduce vehicle maintenance costs
  • Insight Analytics for benchmarking and measuring performance to see where improvements can be made.

ZOLL Lunch and Learn: “Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: (Re)defining Quality”

In this session, Maria Mandt, MD, Children’s Hospital Colorado, will review the details and the importance of quality pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation. She will discuss some of the common errors made during pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation, strategies employed to avoid such errors, and the future of resuscitation. Registration fee is $10. Proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for International Emergency Medicine Education and Certification (F.I.E.R.C.E.). The session will be held Wednesday, Nov 12, 12:30–1:45 p.m. in Room 104.
