  • Responsible for performing monthly general ledger closing procedures including account analysis and reconciliations and reconciling sub-ledger activities
  • Prepares the monthly and quarterly journal entries, including but not limited to the following: expense accruals, fixed asset activities, payroll-related activities, and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepares the applicable MTD, QTD, and YTD roll-forward reports
  • Prepares the quarterly corporate internal reports and provides analysis to support the variances
  • Participates in the preparation of SOX documentation and audit schedules for both internal and external audits
  • Provides research and support for the corporate tax requests, state, and federal compliance requirements
  • Provides ad-hoc research, reports, and analysis of expenses and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in the monthly forecast and yearly budgets, as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • A thorough understanding of US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a CPA is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems, including MS Dynamics Great Plains, a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general accounting software applications is required, and knowledge of MS Dynamics Great Plains, a plus
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Sox, audit and compliance experience is a plus
  • Big 4 or comparable audit experience is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously and manage multiple deadlines, and work with grace under pressure
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take a new task with minimal up-front guidance
