Job purpose

The Director of Talent Acquisition will be responsible for overall talent acquisition processes, strategies and execution of sourcing, attracting, recruiting, interviewing, and on-boarding employees to the organization.  Partners with hiring managers to identify talent needs, develop customized hiring strategies based on the needs of the roles and provides coaching throughout the selection process to ensure that ZOLL is capturing the best talent available in the market and doing so in an efficient, fair and consistent manner.  Provides day to day supervision of the Talent Acquisition team and is responsible for all recruiting tools, services, and maintaining compliance. 

Duties and responsibilities

The Director of Talent Acquisition is an integral member of the Human Resources leadership team and has primary responsibility for managing the talent acquisition function.

  • Manages Talent Acquisition staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees as well as planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Coaches, consults, develops and strengthens the capabilities of the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to hire talent that is in line with ZOLL’s culture and values.
  • Develops recruitment strategy which may include job posting optimization, recruiting marketing channel development, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing, comprehensive recruitment campaign planning, talent planning, etc.
  • Understands and leverages industry best practices to develop diversity sourcing strategies and plans intended to identify, attract and engage qualified diverse talent.
  • Identifies future talent needs and work with Managers, Directors, and VP’s to determine forecasting of future positions.
  • Develops reporting capabilities, metrics, and other data analytics to assess effectiveness of the Talent Acquisition efforts and impact.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.
  • Develops relationships with third party recruitment agencies and staffing firms and manages the procurement and measurement process.
  • Manages and guides administration of employee referral, college recruiting and community recruiting programs.
  • Works with HR Partners to enhance talent acquisition processes and ensures integration with broader talent strategies. Collaborates with talent development resources across ZOLL to strike the right balance between development of talent from within and acquisition of talent from beyond the company.
  • Ensures hiring practices and hiring documentation is compliant with all applicable laws.
  • Acts as functional lead for managing/enhancing/implementing applicant tracking system and other recruiting software and projects.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends and best practices.
  • Recruits and staffs, on an as needed basis, individuals for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years combined full life cycle recruiting and talent acquisition management in a similar environment
  • Effective working knowledge of recruiting within an OFCCP environment, employment law, HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Workday experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead and coach others
  • Project, process and people management skills
  • Embraces challenges and change; flexible, adaptable and reliable
  • Effective time management skills to be able to juggle multiple deadlines and various needs of ZOLL's internal customers

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet.  Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision.  Work will require significant computer and telephone work.
