Job Summary:

Based on priorities set by Program Directors and Program Managers, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the successful execution of small sized projects or subsections of a large project. This position plans, coordinates and leads the execution of activities to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters. The position is technical in nature and the applicant must have an engineering background in order to manage and contribute to the development of new products. The projects that will be managed include a mix of new product development, product line extensions, and sustaining engineering releases.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information – including editing project documents, running reports, and communicating to project team members.
  • Prepare and/or manage the preparation of project documentation.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional team performance toward the goal of completing projects according to the defined objectives.
  • Work with Project Managers to update project work plans and schedules
  • Manage product requirements and traceability.
  • Document project meeting minutes, design reviews, and other key communications associated with the product development effort.
  • Effectively utilize problem solving skills and techniques to identify potential issues, assess their impact, communicate to Project Managers to develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans and activities.
  • Employ excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Facilitate and coordinate project team meetings and management presentations as required.

Skill Requirements:

  • 2+ years of industry / related experience is required
  • Candidate must have technical experience / background
  • Project experience is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for successfully managing multiple projects, of varying complexity, within the specified guidelines, timeframes and budgets.
  • Must have the ability to learn and work independently as well as help coordinate daily activities with team.
  • Strong ability to communicate (verbal & written) skills at all levels and functions
  • Candidate must be detailed oriented and organized.
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Experience with Jira, Smartsheet, DOORS, MS Project, is a plus
  • Knowledge of global standards and regulations for Design Controls, Risk Management, and Electrical Safety for Medical Devices preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of device design and BOM structures a plus.
  • Experience working within a phase-gate development process preferred.

Required/ Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology field.
