The Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL Medical Corporation develops products to protect and manage cardiac patients, including the LifeVest® wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), the ZOLL cardiac monitor, and associated technologies.

Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing the hardware and software architecture designs of the LifeVest products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees system architecture designs for the LifeVest products.
  • Identify key architecture components (processor, memory, communications, software languages…) of LifeVest products.
  • Coordinates software resources for development projects.
  • Collaborates with other software engineering managers to establish software development standards and development tools across software teams.
  • Manages a team of software engineers and managers responsible for developing and sustaining software for the LifeVest products.
  • Collaborates with all areas (regulatory, customer support, manufacturing, marketing…).

Educations and/or Experience:

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5 – 10 years embedded software development experience with demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams on complex projects.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and make appropriate judgment calls to insure the correct outcome.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
