Job Summary:

The Operational Excellence Leader will lead the Operational Excellence team to improve process efficiencies and effectiveness through the implementation of high value Lean and Six Sigma projects. Project leadership includes collaborating throughout the business to identify and justify opportunities, launching project teams, coaching to drive sustainable results, reporting project status and results, , and developing team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete Black Belt Projects each fiscal year:

    • Execute cross-functional Lean and/or DMAIC projects aligned to business objectives leading to improved process flow, quality and/or cost savings

  • Training and Coaching:

    • Responsible for training Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Leaders, and Sponsors (formally and informally).

    • Coach & develop coaches for continuous improvement methods to leverage sound statistical analysis in making data driven decisions throughout the business.

OpEx Deployment:

  • Responsible for the OpEx deployment strategy to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Manage the tracking of Lean and Six Sigma projects, identifying project aligned to business goals, coordinating coaching and training, partnering at all levels within the business for project identification and selection, and regular leadership reviews to monitor results.

  • Other duties as required

Skill Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional level experience in leading and coaching improvement teams.

  • Project management and cross-functional team leadership skills

  • Must have the ability to conduct statistical analysis. (Understand statistical analysis tools/methodology, project management, Lean Six Sigma, quality and basic financial principles and apply them to analyze the planned activities.)

  • Ability to lead and direct cross-functional improvement teams.

  • Must be a results-oriented 'change agent' who is an effective business systems thinker.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing business goals.

  • Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a capital equipment design, assemble, test, service and sales environment and the application of lean six sigma process to them

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in a technical discipline. Masters degree in business or a technical discipline preferred.

  • Master Black Belt Certified

  • Bachelor Degree required, advance degree  in business or technical discipline preferred.
