Job Summary:

Meet the needs of the market through market research, analysis, promotion, pricing and profitability the ZOLL designated product range sold in Australia and New Zealand.  Provide Clinical and Product Training to new and current employees.

Formulate and implement a marketing plan for Australia and New Zealand for the Entire ZOLL designated product range. Provide sales support through the supply of effective sales and training tools.  Working closely with sales personnel in the field, ensuring the sales tools are being effectively used. 

Provide direction of the company (in Australia and New Zealand):

  • Through market research analysis

  • Positioning product including pricing and promotion

  • Assisting with profitability of the company through the products

Providing product training to all members of the company

Essential Functions:

Market Knowledge

  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of those sectors in the market relative to the company’s business to ensure the company’s products achieve their maximum potential.

  • Establish and maintain accurate overall market information relating to size, trends, selling prices and promotion programs

  • Monitor, analyse and effectively communicate competitive activity, highlighting potential impact on the business

Marketing Plan

  • Develop and recommend for approval marketing plans to achieve optimum sales and profitability within the company guidelines.

  • Develop and implement marketing plans which include sales/ profit objectives, strategies, tactics, sales and promotion budgets.

  • Determine price and volume discount policies in conjunction with General Manager

  • Revise marketing plan to reflect changes in the business and report quarterly to the General Manager

  • Organise promotional campaigns and co-ordinate all aspects of product advertising. Maintaining mailing lists for effective product mailings and promotions.

  • Ensure the company’s attendance at conferences achieve maximum market exposure within the constraints of the promotion budget.

New Product Opportunities

  • Identify and communicate new product opportunities to management

  • Develop and recommend new product opportunities for consideration

  • Develop at the request of management, a marketing proposal and/ or plans for new products, providing market forecasts of volume, price, cost, including product launch.

  • Search, identify and implement continuously, product line consolidation/ discontinuance programs

Product Knowledge & Training

  • Develop and maintain product knowledge and provide training to staff.

  • Develop and implement product training programs to ensure that staff are fully conversant with selling features and benefits of assigned products.

  • Recognise and understand competitors products strengths and weaknesses with specific relevance to the company’s products within which training is being given.

Liaison/ Communication

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Maintain productive working relationships with key contacts in relevant key accounts.

  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with General Manager to attain group and company sales goals.

  • Maintain productive relationships within the company.

Tenders and Contracts

  • Responsible for completion of product / specification sections in the processing of tenders, expressions of interest and proposals in the qualified time frame.

Website development and maintenance :

  • Management of budget

  • Development of new web pages

  • Maintenance and updating of current web pages

Distributor Marketing

  • Assist with distributor marketing efforts

  • Review distributor marketing initiatives and signoff on initiatives ensuring they are consistent with ZOLL key messages and the ZOLL style guide

  • Ensure Distributors are updated on new products and promotional material ( through the Distributor Newsletter or other means)

  • Ensure distributors have up to date brochures and marketing material.

Conference organisation:

  • Management of budget

  • Stock logistics

  • Promotional Activities

  • Post event reporting to management

Skills Requirements:

  •  Minimum 2 years marketing experience in the medical industry.  

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or business discipline. Knowledge of the medical industry.

  • Desirable to have relevant sales experience.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Attention to detail

  • Flexible

  • Creativity

  • People management skills
