Area Manager of Sales Support - Midwest

As a valued member of our North American Sales management team, this individual will be responsible for the direct management of ZOLL LifeVest Sales Support Representatives within an assigned region or area.

This is a remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include managing and empowering staff via one-on-one discussions and side by side time in the field, assisting with exception and revenue management, and assisting with vacancy management.

  • Monitor and enforce team and individual metrics, progress to goals, coaching for improvement, and performance management
  • Serve as a Reimbursement expert with all 3rd party payer requirements to help team navigate payers
  • Track recurring revenue and reauthorization trends, while identifying document collection best practice for all new medical orders and reorders
  • Oversee enrollment and training process of customers on LVN, trend business changes based on in-services
  • Manage reporting to improve business relationship with prescriber offices through trending of exception types and volume  
  • Provide education and support to staff to reduce medical order exceptions and increase electronic orders
  • Oversee and assist in conducting introductory level in-service meetings related to medical order process and requirements with auxiliary support staff
  • Foster a team environment within area, lead by example, motivate, inspire team
  • Provide support during times of SSR’s absence or vacancy (vacation, leave, time out of territory for training / meetings, etc.)
  • Align with business needs for territory coverage with Regional Sales Manager to cover for vacancies
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly business review to Sales Leadership providing overview of business, challenges, plan for improvement
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Sales Managers within area to identify and manage SSR responsibilities
  • Build and support growth opportunities in team, through appointing and managing SSR Leads

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Sales Support Representatives in the field. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Educations and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated business acumen within the medical industry.

General Skills: Ability to proactively plan and work autonomously in close collaboration and communication with teammates and Sales Support Representatives, ability to demonstrate flexibility and high sense of urgency, ability to be highly organized, to multi-task,  to problem solve and to be available on occasion during atypical hours (evenings and weekends) to meet critical business needs. Proficient working knowledge of MS Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in non-standardized situations.
