The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The successful candidate acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the Sr. HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.  This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Essential Functions:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with management to generate value-added services to maximize HR contribution to the organization

  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation

  • Provides guidance and input on business unit talent, workforce planning and succession planning

  • May have oversight of a team of HR professional

  • Directs the development of EEO/AAP plans and objectives which include  programs to achieve the recruitment, development and advancement of AAP objectives

  • Occasional travel required

  • Other duties as needed

Skill Requirements:

  • Sound business acumen and the ability to establish credibility, trust and partnership at all levels within the organization

  • Working knowledge of federal/state employment laws and a solid understanding of general HR practices, laws and regulations required

  • Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation and facilitation) skills

  • Strong Interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate; resolve conflicts and coach managers and employees, and work in a team-based environment

  • Analytical and decision making skills required

  • Must be results oriented, customer-focused and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages is required.  Workday experience a plus.

  • Well-developed influencing skills; unquestioned integrity and confidence to effectively address sensitive HR issues

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • 10+ years of industry experience, medical device experience preferred

  • Extensive experience resolving complex employee relations issues

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing operations team highly preferred

  • Ability to lead small teams / projects as needed
