Biomedical Engineer II

Job Summary:
The Biomedical Engineer II is part of the development team working on products related to ventilation and airway management. The engineer will work with cross-functional team members in R&D, regulatory, quality and manufacturing on the design, development, and enhancement of new and currently marketed medical devices, including ventilators and aspirators.

Essential Functions:
•    Design and development activities related to new products, product line extensions, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing support
•    Algorithm implementation and code development for product software or supporting tools
•    Qualification and troubleshooting of designs
•    Development of fixtures and test procedures
•    Documentation associated with engineering activities - requirements, investigation summaries, feasibility reports, engineering change orders, V&V plans and reports

Skills Requirements:
•    Knowledge and experience with one or more programming languages such as C, Python, or MATLAB
•    Experience with DSP, FPGAs, and embedded software (device drivers, bootloaders, RTOS) 
•    Familiarity with communications protocols (I2C, SPI, 1-wire, UART) 
•    Facile with EE lab equipment and techniques for characterization of analog/digital circuits
•    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
•    Positive attitude and affinity for teamwork, logic, innovation, initiative and self-sufficiency
•    Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and skill

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
•    BS degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline and 3+ years of industry experience
•    MS degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline and 1+ years of industry experience
•    Experience developing products under FDA and European Community medical device regulations and standards a plus
•    Past experience with ventilators or aspirators a plus, but not required
