Position Summary:

This is a leadership position that manages the activities, financials, contractors, staff and manpower required for the current and future needs of the buildings and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct collaboration with the onsite Health and Safety Officer
  • Manage and lead extensive project management of complex projects.
  • Leadership to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility, including general maintenance, environmental, janitorial, and life-safety are implemented and carried out in a manner consistent with the company's policies.
  • Develop, and hire, the associated talent to support the function; builds a sustainable talent pool for all facilities.
  • Lead and mentor facilities team for optimal functionality of existing building systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems, networking, controls/instrumentation, elevators and escalators.  Multidisciplinary knowledge, and experience with complex Building Automation Systems a must.
  • Development and management of ongoing maintenance processes and schedules for buildings and grounds.
  • Preparation of RFQ’s and negotiations of service contracts for buildings and grounds.
  • Development of and adherence to Facilities Budget.
  • Provide for design and development activities of Civil, Industrial, and Facilities Engineering functions as related to facility renovations projects.  This includes optimized floor arrangements of office, production, service space; and grounds.
  • Development, scheduling, and project management of construction projects, and evaluate performance.  Responsible for all aspects – this includes all building systems for turn-key delivery to internal customers.
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable Federal, State, and local, facility related ordinances, regulations, licensing, codes, and permit retention.
  • Lead the multi-site development to support company growth.
  • Champion energy saving and operating cost reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support all facility related emergency and high priority situations, which may include occasional night, weekend, and holiday hours as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Leads and Directs the Facility Engineers, Technicians and Project Managers by providing technical guidance, and routinely coordinates/schedules the activities and project management of the department team, vendors, contractors, and other project team members. Mentors and Develops Staff through one on one interactions, leadership and personal development planning.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in Facilities Engineering or a related discipline; Masters a plus.
  • 8+ year’s experience of relevant facilities engineering and property management and extensive project management of complex projects required.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical and manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimal 3 years of successful leadership of a team of 4 to 8 members
  • Strong professional acumen with the ability to work with and influence all levels of an organization are required.
