This individual will take responsibility for driving the engineering function within the ZOLL Chelmsford R&D Department. The individual will focus on both project deliverables and the electrical engineering technical process standardization and compliance, technology road mapping and technology integration

Responsibilities

  • Deliver yearly skills assessment for electrical
  • Contribute to yearly training plans and execution of such fort electrical staff.
  • Contribute to the R&D yearly Leadership Organizational
  • Support and participate with the Director of Electrical Engineering regarding tool and process standardization and evolution of development
  • Participate in yearly strategic planning and budgeting processes, as required.
  • Manage expenditures and assist with budget
  • Assist in developing electrical engineering leadership in the department and ZOLL
  • Manages groups up to 10 staff of direct reports.
  • Establishing and managing electrical engineering and development infrastructure to drive electrical engineering quality and support product development programs under Program Management
  • Responsible for determining electrical skill needs and the hiring/firing and training of electrical engineers
  • Assist in managing electrical and development tool selection, implementation, training of engineers across development programs
  • Manage the quality of the electrical deliverables across projects
  • Step out of traditional prescriptive role of Electrical Engineering management when needed to resolve issues for R&D

Qualifications

  • Evidence of progressive advancements in R&D
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a development capacity as a matrixed, cross disciplinary partner
  • Strong process focus and experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong cross functional/cross disciplinary partnership behavior
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage projects potentially impacted by change

 Required/ Preferred Education and Experience:

  • University degree in the field of electrical engineering
  • Preferably an advanced engineering degree
  • 1O+ years in development of electrical engineering for electrical/mechanical embedded medical devices
