The function of the materials handler III is to process parts through the organization. Workers in this area handle a variety of materials and products. Parts and materials may be expensive or hazardous in some cases. Material Handler III will assist in all areas of Inventory Control and Shipping and Receiving and act as a leader and problem solver within the Materials department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for directing daily Material department functional areas to ensure workload is completed.
  • Will be responsible for executing and directing daily duties from the Inventory Coordinator.
  • Be customer oriented.  Solve issues that come up that pertain to warehousing issues so patients are protected.
  • Perform Daily Cycle Count, troubleshoot and correct in OHM any errors.
  • Process incoming Purchase Order Receipts
  • Process sales orders 
  • Issue components to all work orders types.
  • Fill and deliver completed Stock Requests.
  • Enter WIP Receipts
  • Perform T-Transaction for quick turn items.
  • Perform work order traceability,
  • Process RGO’s
  • Process RMA’s 
  • Perform Location survey quarterly; organize stock locations to ensure all components have a location.
  • Train new employees on Company’s stocking methodology.
  • Train Employees on all aspects of the materials department.
  • Assist Materials Controller in performing quarterly WIP physical inventory.  
  • Enter Sales Orders
  • Have knowledge and training to Perform daily Shipping of Sales Orders, and Marketing Material. 
  • Train new employees on Material Handler duties.
  • Act as a mentor to all Material Handlers and assist in their development.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Perform any projects, assignments, or duties as specified by the Materials Manager or Inventory Coordinator. These assignments could be outside this Job Description.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Education and/or Experience:                                                        

  • A High school diploma
  • Data entry, and computer skills required.
  • 2-3 years of warehouse experience preferred
  • Microsoft Word experience preferred.

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
