Job purpose

The Applications Developer will join the IT Applications team to support existing enterprise applications, design and develop custom solutions, and implement new enterprise software solutions as a member of the implementation team.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work directly with Business Analyst/Architect to design, develop, implement, or customize new or existing enterprise applications. Specific tasks include design, coding, implementation, customization, configuration, and administration.
  • Take part in various project management related activities to support and develop ECM/EDM systems, such as scope definition, requirements gathering, technical solution design, development activities, testing, and documentation.
  • Develop end-to-end test plans and test scripts for new and customized solutions, prepare test data consistent with business goals and objectives, and provide testing progress reports.
  • Work with Business Analyst, System Architect, and the IT Operations team to upgrade existing ECM/EDM systems, including OpenText Capture Center and Content Suite.
  • Develop and implement integration components for related applications, including front-end development, server-side development, and database integration.
  • Design and develop custom modules to support various business processes in ECM/EDM systems using OpenText OScript, Content Server Web Services, and Microsoft.NET/Java technologies.
  • Work to integrate ECM/EDM systems with various external systems such as ERP and workflow applications, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance to users and collect user/business requirements and translate them into configuration activities .
  • Log, analyze, and troubleshoot reported system issues/defects, and work with internal/external resources to resolve support issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Working experience with Content Server REST APIs and the App Works framework
  • Working experience with customization/configuration of Capture Center and Content Server
  • Working experience and skills in using O Script and the Builder
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle as well as IT and PM best practices
  • Proficient in writing tSQL
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical devices, Quality System Regulation, HIPPA, and other regulatory requirements a plus
