Job Summary: 

 

The Senior Test Development Engineer will be an experienced professional providing both new test development and sustaining engineering support for test systems at ZOLL’s Chelmsford Operations as well as at contract manufacturers globally. Additionally, He / She will define design for test requirements during product enhancement / development to ensure the implementation of cost effective production testing of AEDs and accessories. This includes test strategy development, development of manufacturing test requirements, development of test plans, hardware and software design, assembly, debug, validation and release of test equipment for use, both at ZOLL Medical locations and at key supplier sites. May provide work direction to technicians or other production test/assembly personnel, but has no direct reports.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • 30%     Design of Test Systems, Fixtures & Test Software
  • 20%     Test Requirements Review, Strategy & Plan Development
  • 20%     Develop Validation Plan and Documentation of Test Systems & Fixtures
  • 15%     Project Planning, Scheduling
  • 5%       Supervision of Test Development Technicians
  • 5%       Production and Supplier Support
  • 5%       Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of analog, digital and high voltage circuit design.
  • Proficient in test software development, preferably with LabView and TestStand
  • Direct experience in the development of production test fixtures.
  • Project management experience demonstrating the ability to meet schedule and     budget targets.
  • Working knowledge of software design.
  • Proficient in most common PC based applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of six-sigma and Lean manufacturing a plus.

 

 Required/ Preferred Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.  BSEE desired.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a production test and an electro-mechanical assembly environment including ICT, Functional Test and Reliability Test (HALT, HASS) development.
  • Experience with FDA QSR process and validation documentation requirements a plus.
