Performs all activities necessary to process 1 or more payrolls, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management. As the highest-ranking employee whose primary responsibility is payroll, incumbent is solely responsible for all payroll and related activities

Job purpose

Support mechanical design and development of Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator products from the requirement stage through release to manufacturing. Support design documentation. Conduct design studies for future generation products. Support the efforts of other departments as required. This is a position that will work under supervision of mechanical engineers.         

Duties and responsibilities

  • Technician working on an engineering team on research, development, and sustaining projects.
  • Analyze and test devices, components, and subassemblies used in new and legacy product designs.
  • Support for mechanical design and development for medical products and related hardware.
  • Be able to read and interpret engineering and production drawings and documents.
  • Author and process change orders.
  • Support design improvements to existing products.
  • Conduct and support design studies for future generation products.
  • Resolve field issues that arise from complaints and manufacturing process problems. 
  • Works under some supervision with work checked periodically with an expectation of minimal error rates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in mechanical specific testing of new designs, including drop test, impact test and ingress protection.
  • Experience in the design of test fixtures supporting design and development efforts.
  • Experience in the fabrication and testing of parts, fixtures and processes.
  • Experience in report writing, including up front test development and documentation.
  • Familiarity with part design for molding, machining, rubber molding and sheet metal forming.
  • Proficient in the use of general engineering lab equipment and familiar with 3D printing.
  • 2-3 years of experience in electronics packaging design and troubleshooting.
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting the design of complex plastic injection molded parts.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling/drafting software, including demonstrated ability to produce high quality 2D specification drawings.
