Overview

The ZOLL Circulation division is looking for an Infrastructure engineer.  This position will be responsible for physical, virtual, storage, and disaster recovery.  We will work to bring a legacy infrastructure up to modern standards.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is also responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of the Windows Server, Virtual, and Storage solutions.  As the perfect candidate, you will have a vast array of skills supporting virtual, storage, network, and cloud environments. You will work on local infrastructure and help coordinate efforts at the Circulation division.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the infrastructure is configured and distributed correctly to meet stability and performance objectives.
  • Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical IT Infrastructure services.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure environment by monitoring performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Apply revisions and updates as appropriate.
  • Manage crises and work under pressure to resolve problems.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Provide 3rd level technical support. Perform troubleshooting as required.
  • Work with team members, equipment vendors, and consultants to install, repair, or reconfigure IT Infrastructure components.
  • Deploy and manage Windows/Linux/Unix servers.
  • Familiar with IIS and MSSQL for application hosting (some experience with MySQL is a plus)
  • Maintain and monitor VMWare environment, Hyper-V environment, AD, DNS, and Veeam Backup.
  • Maintain and monitor the performance of network switches
  • Manage and maintain a disaster recovery environment and vendor relationships.
  • Champion automation for proactive self-management of infrastructure and deployment. (PowerShell)
  • Develop a sound understanding of IT operations and related applications, IT systems, and business-related processes and procedures.
  • Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommend ways to take advantage of new technology.
  • Provide periodic after-hours on-call support and respond to system failures.
  • Perform additional related duties as requested or required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years prior industry experience (Enterprise preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science related is preferred) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux/Windows-based environments.
  • Strong cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 platform experience (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Understanding MDM and MAM solutions such as Microsoft Intune
  • Strong automation skills using PowerShell.
  • Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts; familiarity with configuring Cisco, Juniper and PAN platforms is a plus
  • Experience with monitoring systems.
  • Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to mentor junior technical staff.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

  • VMware Certification (VCP)
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSA/SE)
  • Backup systems and solutions (Veeam preferred)
