Director of Market Development, EMEA

The Director of Market Development will be responsible for building the market in Europe and the Middle East for TherOx in support of local reimbursement, evidence generation, and commercial adoption. The Director will be responsible for developing the market access strategy in each target country while setting priorities, driving organizational alignment, and executing foundational market development efforts including market education and awareness, and KOL engagement and advocacy. The Director will also be responsible for targeted commercial utilization across EMEA, developing and managing business partnerships, supporting clinical efforts in coordination with the Clinical Affairs team, and supporting health authority engagement in pursuit of reimbursement.
The position will report to the VP Global Marketing and Market Access, with a dotted line to the EMEA Sales Director, Circulation.
Responsibilities:
• Identify targeted commercial opportunities for TherOx and develop appropriate objective driven business plans
• Oversee EMEA peer-to-peer initiatives to generate leads and drive market acceptance:
o Lead speaker bureau and advisory board efforts and establish a regular cadence of physician engagement events.
o Develop a regional publications and podium (incl ZOLL sponsored events) calendar
o Manage TherOx promotional presence at key trade shows
• Foster and manage relationships with key opinion leaders and medical societies in both interventional cardiology and heart failure in order to:
o Guide clinical evidence to secure reimbursement and establish disease-state specific care guidelines
o Identify and drive clinical evidence opportunities, close collaboration with market access and clinical affairs teams
• Serve as the primary ZOLL TherOx field coordinator of Scientific Programs (Investigator Initiated Studies, Clinical Trials) that are administered in Europe.
• Provide SSO2 therapy education to the physician specialists, advanced practice providers and medical practice personnel that manage STEMI patients (heart failure, interventional cardiology, internal medicine) with the goal of increasing therapy awareness. Facilitate meetings with new sites on a monthly basis.
• Collaborate closely with US Marketing Team’s awareness and market development efforts to ensure a coordinated and singular global voice
• Remain educated on current industry trends and relevant competitive devices.
• Provide support in administrative reporting and analysis as needed.
• Field based position with up to 40% travel.

Temperature Management Solutions empower physicians to "prescribe" a temperature and achieve it. TherOx SSO2 Therapy is the first FDA-approved therapy since the stent 20+ years ago to reduce infarct size in patients with the most severe heart attacks.
Job Summary
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for driving market adoption and penetration of SSO2 Therapy, accelerating its shift from a novel technology for LAD STEMI to clinically-driven standard of care. In addition to oversight of core go-to-market activities supporting commercialization efforts and annual operating objectives, you will be responsible for driving foundational market development efforts including market education and awareness, customer engagement and advocacy, and clinical/real-world evidence generation. The Director of Marketing will also be responsible for driving organizational alignment, enthusiasm, and focus, while cultivating strong partnerships with key functions including clinical, sales, and R&D. You will also be responsible for maintaining consistency and alignment with international access and commercialization efforts. The position will report to the Vice President of ZOLL Circulation Marketing based in San Jose.

Essential Functions
- Own go-to-market strategy including the formulation of messaging and content marketing programs to accelerate procedural adoption and fuel demand generation campaigns that strengthen awareness and demand for TherOx
- Develop and execute a multi-channel marketing communication plan, working closely with sales and clinical leadership, to ensure a cadence of fresh content and consistency across vehicles (sales tools, digital, P2P, other channels)
- Foster and manage relationships with key opinion leaders and medical societies in both interventional cardiology and heart failure in order to:
- Guide clinical evidence and establish disease-state specific care guidelines
- Identify and drive clinical evidence opportunities
- Determine product needs and requirements supporting the product development process
- Oversee all peer-to-peer initiatives to drive leads and market acceptance:
- Lead speaker bureau and advisory board efforts, drive consistency in content and messaging, and establish a regular cadence of physician engagement events.
- Develop a publications and podium (incl ZOLL sponsored events) calendar, work with clinicals to develop content
- Manage TherOx promotional presence at key trade shows
- Develop TherOx Center of Excellence program
- Coordinate activities with Circulation professional educational initiatives (e.g., Circulation Academy)
- Partner with regional teams and coordinate marketing activities to provide strategic market development, overcome access barriers, and achieve growth objectives
- Participate in the product development process providing marketing direction, product, customer, and market input.
- Partner with the Reimbursement and Health Economic team to establish the commercial viability of SSO2 Therapy.
- Understand and develop strategies relative to both competitive threats and new opportunities.
- Manage marketing budget to support business financial objectives
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- MBA/MHA/MPH or another graduate-level program preferred
- 10+ plus years of direct experience in global medical device marketing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to thrive within a small company environment where flexibility, initiative, and resourcefulness are required. Experience in startup/early-stage environment and therapy development a plus
- Candidates must be outstanding communicators, collaborators, and have the ability to effective change leadership and influence management skills
- Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment
- Downstream marketing experience and experience developing new markets for novel therapies from the ground up
- Proven experience creating and executing marketing programs and as well as brand management experience required
- Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple vendors, marketing partners, and agency partners
- Broad business acumen and P&L orientation required
