Job Summary

Responsible for the control and execution of the Cycle Count Program utilizing the Oracle ERP system. Monitors work in-process, on-hand inventory and resolves all negative quantities. Performs spot counts of suspect on-hand inventory balances for all sub-inventory locations. Identify root cause for incorrect inventory balances and works to correct problems with Materials, manufacturing, Engineering and Documentation. Resolves issues found through changes in ERP Item Master or updates of Bill of Materials using ECO process. Reviews transactions from Receiving, Warehouse and the results of back flushing material on work orders.

Essential Functions

  • Runs daily cycle count sheets and distributes to respective warehouse areas.
  • Cycle count sub-inventory locations daily through the use of the ERP system
  • Monitor all negative and suspect on-hand inventory quantities working closely with Inventory Control Supervisor, Materials Manager, Production, Warehouse and Documentation departments
  • Research inventory discrepancies, conduct spot counts and WO work-in-progress analysis to determine root cause and make necessary corrections.
  • After investigating, completes reconciliation activity (transactions) to ensure that inventory accuracy is maintained & optimized.
  • Reports recurring deficiencies concerning inventory movements and material handling so that corrective actions may be instituted.
  • Drives Item Master and Bill of Material updates through Documentation/Agile ECO process.
  • Works with Production Scheduler to fully understand scheduling, work order creation and production flow.
  • Closes all production work orders ensuring that scrap transactions are properly recorded against the correct accounts.
  • Processes freight claims due to damaged incoming materials shipments and maintain pertinent records to ensure follow up activities.
  • Analyzes aging inventory and recommend actions to purchasing, production, engineering and quality.
  • Evaluates returned material (Customer RMAs), report findings and collaborate with Inventory Control Supervisor to properly disposition and handle. Suggest reasonable actions based on system information as well as company/industry knowledge.
  • Mentors and back-up personnel in the Shipping area as designated by the inventory Control Supervisor.
  • Resolves inventory shortage problems in a timely manner based on Production meeting and requests from Production floor.
  • Performs special tasks and assignments as requested.


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma preferred or
  • Equivalent with some technical training desired preferred and
  • Any similar combination of education and experience required
  • Five-to-seven years of experience in Manufacturing with exposure to medical device production desirable preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Well organized, motivated and ability to work independently
  • Development and implementation of the Cycle Count Program
  • Daily creation and accurate execution of the Cycle Counting process and timely resolution of issues
  • Elimination of negative and suspect on-hand inventory quantities
  • Development and maintenance of strong professional relationships with key personnel involved in the control and flow of material from receipt to shipment of product
  • Must exhibit a positive, team-oriented type attitude in the performance of specified duties. Must lead by example with peers.
  • Demonstrated experience/expertise in the use of an advanced ERP Inventory Control system
  • Hands-on experience in controlling inventory within Production and Warehouse operations
  • Proficient in the use of computers & computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with manager and other team members.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Should be knowledgeable of and willing to comply with all ISO and FDA regulations and procedures.
  • Proficient Knowledge of Inventory control processes.
