The Director, Asia Pacific Operations will be fully accountable for the P&L and be responsible for aggressively driving ZOLL’s Circulation business growth in Asia Pacific, establishing a solid infrastructure and brand positioning to enable the division to grow market shares, increase revenue and profitability. The leadership team sees significant opportunities in Asia Pacific and is committed to building a strong organization in the region.

The ideal candidate should possess strong business acumen and the propensity to develop and win new business and an in-depth understanding of delivering brand value and superb customer service in the medical devices industry. The individual should enjoy spending time in the field, working alongside the field force and distributors, and fostering strong partnerships with key customers. The Director, Asia Pacific Operations should have a good balance in strategic and execution capabilities and be willing to “roll up his/her sleeves” when required. The ability to drive performance through the organization, the experience in market entry, and the ability in building and implementing a sophisticated commercial operation is essential.



Essential Functions

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manage all the commercial activities of Asia Pacific Territory.
    • Managed distributor operations remaining countries, while identifying solid opportunities to take the business direct in selected countries.
    • Full P&L responsibility of revenue with expectation of double-digit growth annually.
    • Successfully manage all direct reports in the region
    • Develop and execute commercial and market specific strategies to maximize market share as well as presence of ZOLL in selected key target markets.
    • Develop and execute a multi-distribution strategy for secondary and tertiary markets.
    • Outline and execute distribution strategy for Hospital, EMS, and Military segment.
    • Manage Tech Service, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Deployment teams and consultants.

    Other Core Functions

    • Position the territory to achieve quarterly and annual budget.
    • Successfully manage key metrics such as gross margin, profitability/contribution, DSOs, inventory turnover, Opex, etc.
    • Establish and/or expand brand recognition of ZOLL in all market segments as the preferred supplier to the resuscitation market.
    • Establish pricing, discounting, and offering policy for distribution channels.
    • Establish and maintain CRM for pipeline reporting and effective forecasting.
    • Cultivate and expand a network of Key Opinion Leaders for the key market segments.
    • To facilitate ZOLL’s expansion, recruit and develop top sales & management talent.
    • Analyse socio economic & political data to leverage growth and mitigate risks.

    Required/Preferred Education and Experience

    • Tertiary qualifications- preferably in a business/medical/scientific field.
    • Strong sales experience in Medical Equipment and Device industry.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • At least 10 years in a highly competitive commercial operations environment.
    • Experienced in or strong knowledge of medical capital equipment market.
    • Demonstrated success track records.
    • Proven strategic planning ability.
    • Strong financial & commercial skills to deliver profitable sales growth.
    • Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Solid exposure to Asia Pacific with proven experiences at the senior management level leading a diverse team.

    • Fluent in English
    • Mandarin - Good to have
