Job Summary:
Under general direction, organizes, monitors, and supervises the repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of the building and grounds, while performing a variety of technical tasks relative to facility maintenance.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies including scheduling repairs, renovations projects, waste reduction improvements, and safety inspections and corrections.
Support the team in conducting maintenance, service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and others, as applicable.
Negotiate with outside vendors/contractors for supplies, repairs, and capital purchases.
Oversee services related to electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry and masonry, substituting, changing, cleaning, repairing and installing pieces, components and equipment.
Ensure operating requirements, building codes, and safety regulations are met.
Plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services identifying and allocating available resources.
Assist in the preparation of various contracts, requests for proposals, and reports.
Required/ Preferred Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or trade school level course work in facilities, business, management, engineering, or a related field.
Three years of increasingly responsible facility maintenance experience including some lead supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Operations, services, and activities of a building maintenance, repair, and construction program.
Materials, methods, terminology, equipment, and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work.
