Job purpose

The Production Coordinator’s primary functions are to maintain the in-process routings for open orders, ensure that all product moves through the production and service processes according to established procedures and act as key support member of the Manufacturing & Service groups. Secondary duties include assisting in the implementation of process changes related to Production Control, direct communication with QA members of the Material Review Board, and other duties as assigned.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for assigning the disposition of nonconforming service material. 
  • Update work to the shop floor, or adjust work thoroughly and in a timely manner consistent with requirements and driven by the production planning process. 
  • Review planned orders for component availability and release for manufacture. 
  • Modifies scheduled dates and quantities using the established guidelines. 
  • Expedites shop orders. 
  • Assists in the coordination of change notices.
  • Understands and maintains manufacturing and service process flows.
  • Responsible for performing simple to moderately complex MRP searches and transactions as related to QA, inventory transactions, and shop floor control.
  • Responsible for providing direction and clarity in the manufacturing and service activities of lower-level manufacturing personnel.
  • Responsible for tracking and analyzing a range of service and manufacturing data including common failures, scrapped nonconforming materials, and process bottlenecks.
  • Responsible for clearly communicating relevant manufacturing operational problems to the manufacturing/service managers and supervisors.
  • Responsible for managing moderate to complex tasks with minimal direction.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Requires a minimum of one year materials planning experience in a small to medium manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Demonstrated Analytical Problem Solving Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to read parts lists, shop routers, manufacturing drawings, and engineering change notices.
