Position Summary:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for developing and executing the financial strategy to ensure all financial data is accurate, timely and complete for management review. The Controller will assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage accounting department and employees.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
Oversee the monthly financial statement reporting package
Payroll processing includes sales commissions to Sales teams, allowances such as phone and car, fringe benefits, etc.
Revenue Recognition
Oversee collections process and targets
Supports budgeting and forecasting activities; prepares and analyzes monthly business trends and reports
Review and approve vendor payments
Travel and expense review and analysis
Preparing various financial reports and dashboards
Ensure all financial data is accurate, timely and complete for management review
Provide assistance with quarterly external and annual audits. Respond to requests by Company’s Controller (providing information to our independent auditors).
Manage interactions with tax authorities (opening and closing new state accounts sales tax and withholding tax)
Preparation of annual tax return
Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year; monitor and advise on the progress to enhance professional development of team
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the Department
Responsible for all aspects of the accounting function including Bank, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoices, payments, reconciliations, general ledger, provisioning, and all accounting activities
Journal entries as needed, posting to general ledger and analyzing accounts
Train new employees on Microsoft Dynamics
Conduct various tax calculations, payments, exempt certifications
Execute Ad-Hoc finance projects as needed from time to time
Qualifications:
BA in Accounting or Finance
2 – 4 Years of proven work experience as Controller or Assistant Controller
CPA license (required)
MBA (a plus)
Team leader and individual contributor
Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Microsoft Dynamics software experience is a plus
SalesForce.com software experience is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and work under pressure
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
Strong organizational & time management skills
Must have excellent follow up and follow through qualities, taking ownership & accountability
