Job purpose

Manage the coordination and collection of data from multiple clinical and research study sites, hospital medical records, local industry and affiliate study sites

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop project-specific data management plans that address areas such as data coding, reporting, or transfer, database locks, and work flow processes. Generate data queries based on validation checks or errors and omissions identified during data entry to resolve identified problems.
  • Design and validate clinical databases including designing or testing logic checks. Design forms for receiving, processing or tracking data.
  • Facilitate and support the clinical research department in data mining and analysis of commercial use databases, interpreting results, and study coordination of registries and trials.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses. Write work instruction manuals, standard operating procedures, data capture guidelines.
  • Some travel may be required. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.


·Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in a scientific discipline, or equivalent education. 

·High level of comfort with computers and flexibility and aptitude for learning new skills and software applications as needed. 

·Knowledge of statistics and statistical software preferred. 

·Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.  Ability to work with minimal supervision once given instructions. 

·Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Applicants must have 2+ years of (device industry preferred) experience in clinical data management.

Working conditions

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet.  Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision.  Work will require significant computer and telephone work.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
