Job Summary: 

The Manager, North American Sales Contract Administration is responsible for providing management and leadership of associates that support customer requests for the Administration of North American Customer Contracts.  This role will be reviewing, drafting, negotiating contracts, and managing oversight of the contract process to ensure contract accuracy. In addition, the Contract Manager will serve as the key point of contact between ZOLL and North American Corporate Account customers to ensure timely and accurate review. Utilize best practices to develop and implement contract strategies to support the RFP and sales processes. Communicates and manages workflow of all contract stages.  This position is responsible to oversee cross functional engagement with key business functions including and not limited to; North American Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, Marketing, Tech Service, HR and Finance.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises the activity of entry to mid-level contract professionals in the review and preparation of routine contract documents in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Reviews complex solicitations and prepares a specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications.
  • Trains and develops subordinate contract professionals to assume more complex contract activity.
  • Manages all commercial and government customer contracts in accordance with company policies, specifications, good business practices and legal requirements.
  • Serve as main point of contact for review of contracts and will partner with Legal and other internal teams as needed to finalize.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters. Act as contractual liaison between North American Sales and customers, ensuring timely review and approval.
  • Provide redlined recommendations and often negotiate directly with customer until consensus has been reached.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive and implement process improvements or streamlined policies that will positively impact internal efficiencies and/or enhance the customer experience.
  • Facilitates necessary engagement between Senior Management, Cross Functional Leadership, Legal Personnel and other critical functions to resolve compliance, legal or other critical issues that may have significantly adverse legal implications (i.e. contracts with non-standard or potentially high-risk terms/conditions)
  • Develops and Maintains cross functional leadership relationships to enhance focus and accountability to contractual compliance related responsibilities to fulfill customer contractual obligations and minimize ZOLL Compliance Risk.
  • Oversee customer pricing relationships in Oracle system.
  • Administer and manage Distributor contracts, rebate agreements, tracings, and electronic data files.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and train less-experienced contract professionals and to identify and develop contract skills in assigned role.
  • Proven experience working on Sales related Contracts and an understanding of contract language and its impact.
  • Ability to comfortably work cross-functionally across all levels in the organization including senior management.
  • Constructively challenge the current processes by surfacing and influencing ideas for new approaches and improvement is required.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems and provides solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication and strong command of the English language as relates to proper grammar, punctuation and editing skills as required.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to consistently produce a high-quality work product under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Oracle ERP and Ariba Contract Management.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of demonstrated contracts management experience, preferably with Medical Device company preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing team, including performance management, providing feedback & having crucial conversations, coaching, new associate onboarding, and providing career development planning and opportunities, is preferred.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with all levels of management and customers.
  • Ability to perform in complex cross-functional business environment, required.
  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), preferred.
