Our products are used every day to provide life-saving critical care.  In the public safety (PS) market, our data product portfolio includes PlusTrac and related software extensions which provide critical tools to help program managers and response personnel outside the hospital better manage all aspects of their emergency response program.

 

The Public Safety Data Product Owner is a critical position to support ZOLL’s mission.  The Product Owner is responsible for the analysis and development of the product design, user requirements, ongoing product execution, and release of products to the market. This includes writing detailed requirements in the form of user stories that support the portfolio’s strategic vision, working closely with the development teams to implement those requirements and ensuring that the released products effectively solve real customer problems. This position works with both ZOLL software and hardware products. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand our customer’s needs and thrive in an Agile Scrum product team.

 

The Product Owner is also expected to contribute to the portfolio’s strategic vision, product/release planning and contribute to the go-to-market activities. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of Cloud-based SaaS products, a mastery of requirements, user-story development & prioritization.  And exemplify cross-functional leadership skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate input from multiple stakeholders, such as product managers, customers, marketing, sales, support, and development teams, into product requirements and translate these customer and stakeholder needs into persona driven user stories
  • Work closely with customers, partners and focus groups to understand user needs and their complete end-to-end experience with the product
  • Create and groom user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and support team activities in an Agile Scrum framework
  • Partner with UX to define and communicate product-specific user and buyer personas
  • Prioritization of the product backlog including maintenance and features of the product
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in the development process and perform story acceptance on their behalf
  • Work with engineering and UX to make strategic design decisions and to ensure that overall functionality of the finished product delivers value and exceptional user experience
  • Solve product related problems, make decisions, and complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments
  • Work closely with other product owners (both within and across portfolios) to ensure integration requirements are successfully implemented
  • Take responsibility for the overall success of a product release by ensuring organizational release readiness through training activities and documentation for sales engineers, implementation, and support teams.
  • Own and communicate product-specific roadmaps that align to product owners mid and long-term vision for the portfolio
  • Work closely with Agile team to ensure alignment of product release plans and execution to product roadmap

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant product development/ownership experience in high tech industry with a track record of successful product delivery as a product owner (PO) or business analyst (BA)
  • Excellent technical acumen and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a matrix organization
  • An entrepreneurial drive to do what’s necessary to achieve results
  • Strong organizational skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with commercial software in a SaaS environment
  • Experience in Agile development environments
  • Conversant in best practices for outstanding user experiences in contemporary technology solutions
  • Basic knowledge of various coding languages including Ruby, .NET, SQL, Android and Apple mobile application builds.
  • Familiarity with SCRUM practices or certification.
  • Demonstrated experience working on products in accordance with FDA compliance and regulatory requirements such as HIPPA, PPI, GDPR (preferred).

The salary range for this position is $100K - $120K annually with a potential for 10% bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
