Job purpose

Responsible for coordinating/conducting all training and quality improvement functions for clinical services within the ZOLL Cardiac Diagnostics monitoring center.

Duties and responsibilities

Training responsibilities

Continually improve on existing ECG training program

Develop formal onboarding and training process for monitoring center personnel

Teach ECG classes to potential cardiac technician candidates

Train new cardiac technicians and customer support representatives in the following (as appropriate for job description):

Policies and procedures related to Cardiac Diagnostics operations

ECG interpretation

Function and features of ECG interpretation and reporting software

Cardiac monitor operation and troubleshooting

Clinical services support functions

Customer service/support functions

Telephone skills

On-going training of cardiac technicians and customer support representatives in the following areas as appropriate:

Advanced ECG skills

Software functions and features

New monitoring technologies including troubleshooting

Quality Improvement responsibilities

Perform analysis of ECG data for QA/QI purposes

Prepare and deliver individual QI feedback to cardiac technicians

Perform QA/QI on customer phone calls

Develop training programs based on results of QA analysis

Deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs based on QA analysis

Other responsibilities

Analyze QI trends and prepare individual/global improvement actions plans

Interface as necessary with IDTF Supervising Physician for training and QA/QI activities

Track cardiac technician certifications

Develop, review and revise policies and procedures as necessary

Maintain training and quality records

Report on training and quality trends and functions as necessary

Other duties/assignments as necessary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products
  • Five years of ECG interpretation experience
  • At least 3 years of training and development experience
  • CCT/CRAT certification or RN/Paramedic with current ACLS
  • At least two years of clinical quality assurance/improvement experience (ECG QA/QI preferred)
  • Exceptional customer service skills and acumen
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced/ high pressure environment

Working conditions

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet.  Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision.  Work will require significant computer and telephone work.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
