As part of our ZOLL CMS Sales Team, you will be responsible for selling our non-invasive wearable cardiac defibrillator system to physicians, patients, hospitals, and staff. This includes the initial sale as well as ongoing in-service and support activities to promote consistent use. Call points include Physicians (Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Hospitalists, etc.), nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and administrators. Other duties include physician and nurse training and assisting in the reimbursement process to ensure timely revenue collection.
This is a remote/ field-based position.

Job purpose
This field-based representative is responsible for increased levels of revenue attainment and resolution of unbilled exception management with CMS physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff.
Duties and responsibilities
List the primary job duties and responsibilities of the position.
50% Facilitate additional documentation collection (when indicated) for medical orders and authorizations to ensure timely and accurate claims processing by the payor
20% Conduct complete patient reviews with healthcare professionals and office staff
10% Develop and execute strategies and tactical plans to increase the utilization of electronic ordering and other initiatives to drive clean first-time order submissions
20% Lead team as a player-coach and subject matter expert
Ensure timely processing of required paperwork to prevent delays in patient fitting, billing, and recovery of products
Monitor Unbilled Patient Exception Status report, with timely procurement & submission; Submit missing documents to the Reimbursement Operations department and manage recurring revenue
Effectively manage patients through Transition of Care and additional Reimbursement processes
Responsible for improved Claims Billing yield within defined geography consisting of assigned accounts.
Develop and master a full working knowledge of all 3rd party payor requirements
Understand, communicate, and train hospital and office staff to submit complete orders; Provide education and support to appropriate staff to reduce medical order exceptions, ensuring an increase in successful first-time order submission
Conduct monthly meetings with Manager to review exceptions priority related to the conversion of billable patients
Assist with departmental projects and special tasks when assigned (e.g., Pilot Teams)
Achieve and maintain acceptable performance metrics
Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, particularly HIPAA
Participate in all reasonable work activities as assigned and deemed appropriate by management
Collaborate with Manager of Patient Administration to identify and coach areas of opportunity for COPA and Sr. COPA
Work collaboratively with MPA to onboard and train new COPAs
Foster a team environment within the area; lead by example, motivate, and inspire the team
Regularly conduct scheduled field visits with COPAs
Provide verbal and written follow-up and observation reports that highlight and address the COPAs’ strengths and areas of improvement or development
Provide support to Leadership and team during transitional periods, including covering vacant territories.

Qualifications
High School diploma/GED required
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education and relevant working experience preferred
Healthcare/Medical Device (Clinical or Billing) experience preferred
Experienced ability to navigate Hospital and Clinic/Practice environments defined as proficiently navigating hospital flow, and document collection, along with competent and confident provider and patient interaction
Ability to proactively plan and work autonomously in close collaboration and communication with others
A high sense of urgency and flexibility in one’s schedule
Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Problem-solving mentality, accountability for each task from beginning to end
Proficient working knowledge of MS Office (including Power BI, Excel, Word, Outlook) & Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce.com, Dynamics) preferred
Effective team player capable of working independently with strong self-motivation

This job is a field-based position. Employees will be responsible for working daily in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and other medical establishments within the assigned territory. Approximately 80% travel within a defined geography. Occasionally may be required to work atypical hours (evenings and weekends) based on business needs.
