Job purpose

The BI Data Warehouse Architect will serve as a member of a team that is responsible for the analysis, architecture, design, development, and support of cloud and/or on-prem data warehouses and business intelligence applications and reporting. This role will architect, design, implement, and support highly complex BI applications of strategic or functional importance, including integration with data sources, automated data refresh processes, data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that communicate critical insights to the business.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead analysis, architecture, design, and development of cloud and/or on-prem data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.

  • Develop data warehouse strategy and best practices, including multi-phased implementation roadmaps.

  • Design logical and physical data models, star-schemas, dimension, and fact tables.

  • Ensure DW design and ETL processes can scale to handle additional data demands and can adapt to changing business requirements and data sets.

  • Meet deadlines for individual and team projects.

  • Maintain technical documentation and source control related to project design and implementation.

  • Respond quickly to resolve application issues.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent.

  • Experience in architecting data solutions on AWS and Azure.

  • Working knowledge of AWS toolsets (Kinesis Firehose, Streams, Redshift, Athena, and QuickSight).

  • Experience using Azure tools and services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL).

  • Proficient in working with MS SQL database using SSIS, SSRS, and SSDT for Visual Studio and related tools.

  • (Preferred) Working experience in healthcare/regulated environment.

  • (Preferred) one or more Azure and AWS certifications.

Working conditions

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet.  Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision.  Work will require significant computer and telephone work.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
