Communications Coordinator

Location: Hybrid work option available (Chelmsford, MA and remote)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, the Communications Coordinator is a key position on ZOLL’s growing Corporate Communications team. The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for supporting a variety of internal (employee) communications and external (media relations) communications by assisting with the implementation of strategic communications plans. This role will support all aspects of the planning, execution, and measurement processes for internal and external communications that drive employee awareness and engagement and build ZOLL’s corporate brand and reputation with key audiences.

The ideal candidate has 2-3+ years of professional communications experience (e.g., employee communications, public relations, journalism, etc.), is collaborative yet comfortable working independently, and is looking to join a dynamic, growing team of communicators at a mission-driven organization that operates at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with other members of the ZOLL Corporate Communications team, as well as ZOLL executives, marketing, human resources and other colleagues, to support a variety of communications efforts.

  • Develops, researches, writes and edits articles, memos, press releases, online content, talking points, and a variety of other traditional and digital media.

  • Leads tactical efforts to grow usage, reach and impact of corporate intranet, including developing compelling content for a general employee audience.

  • Assists the Corporate Communications team in expanding the use of digital channels and multimedia communications (e.g., video), bringing creative ideas and new approaches to engaging with key audiences.

  • Conducts research to assist with message development, reports, presentations, etc.

  • Manages internal and external processes for identifying, developing and distributing press releases (including administrative and account management tasks with third-party services)

  • Monitors media coverage to measure impact and identify trends and opportunities; develops reports on coverage as needed.

  • Fields incoming press inquiries and routes them to the appropriate parties as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 2+ years of professional communications experience in a business setting; PR agency experience is a plus

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and oral communication skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Familiarity with basic principles and best practices in professional communications – particularly employee engagement and media relations

  • Hunger for learning; ability to synthesize disparate information, ask probing questions, and see “the big picture”

  • Experience with common technologies and platforms for large-scale communications (e.g., video, intranet, etc.)

  • Strong organization and time-management skills; proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Team player who is flexible, enthusiastic, and creative

  • Graphic design, layout and other visual communications skills strongly preferred
