Sales Development Specialist

Location: Chelmsford, MA


Job Summary:

The Sales Development Specialist (SDS) is a key member of the team driving the success of integrated lead generation programs involving Marketing, Sales Development and Field Sales.

The SDA manages leads generated by marketing activities, all inbound product inquiries, as well as cold calling relative to a specific marketing segment. The successful candidate will develop and create methods for researching and qualifying potential customers to drive new business to the Field Sales.

The opportunities generated in Sales Development directly increase the sales pipeline for ZOLL Medical products and services, so the successful candidate must have the ability to qualify target customers and be comfortable speaking with senior level management.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and qualify opportunities from lead generation activities, inbound product inquiries and outbound calling into defined target groups
  • Identify and develop key contacts and decision makers within prospect accounts
  • Utilize consultative sales approach to evaluate and understand customers' business and needs
  • Communicate ZOLL Medical's value proposition and tailor to customer needs
  • Timely and accurate entry of all pertinent prospect date into the ZOLL CRM database

Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in an Inside Sales, Lead Development or Account Management role developing relationships across a wide range of customers/ clients via phone and email
  • High level of integrity and ability to work independently
  • Ability to learn quickly, insure timely and accurate follow-up
  • Excellent phone and computer skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Execute a daily routine of research, outbound calls and emails
  • Prior sales training is a plus
  • Energetic, creative, motivated self-starter, goal oriented and a team player
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or other CRM application is a plus


  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience preferred
