The Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL Medical Corporation develops products to protect and manage cardiac patients, including the LifeVest® wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), the ZOLL cardiac monitor, and associated technologies.

The Reimbursement Contact Specialist assists with the reimbursement process by obtaining and verifying information with patients, physicians, and facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance and physician information with patients and/or their designated contacts
  • Prepare and mail letters to patients  where we have been unsuccessful in telephonic contact
  • Confirm patient usage by reviewing account notes and/or contacting the patient via phone as needed
  • Obtain updated insurance information and submit for COB
  • Contact hospitals and other facilities to verify the patient discharge dates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Educations and/or Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with insurance verification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, email programs, and online information systems. 
  • Experience working with all payer types to include Medicare, Medicaid, and third party commercial insurance companies.
  • Call center experience a plus

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
