ZOLL SPONSORS THIRD ASIA PACIFIC RESUSCITATION NURSES CONFERENCE

September 22, 2017—CHELMSFORD, MASS.—ZOLL® Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that it is sponsoring the Third Asia Pacific Resuscitation Nurses Conference (APRNC), which will take place in two locations—26 September at Severance Hospital, Seoul, South Korea, and 28-29 September at the Trans Resort Bali, Indonesia. The conference in South Korea will be attended by mostly Korean nurses, while the conference in Indonesia will be attended by nurses from the rest of Asia Pacific region.

The scientific program will address improving outcomes in resuscitation. Themed “Make a Difference,” this year’s conference features international speakers in the field of critical care and emergency medicine from the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand.

Three Keynote Speakers

With three keynote sessions and a day of hands-on workshops, the conference aims to provide a holistic educational experience. The first keynote session will feature Nancy Sullivan, DNP, Clinical Simulation Director at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, United States speaking about ways to “Improve Your Patient Outcomes: Resuscitation Training That Works.” Lynda J. Knight, MSN, a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, United States, will speak on “The Revive Initiative: Mobile Simulation Training.” In Seoul, Mi-kyung Kim, a Celebrity Instructor, TV Host, and Education Entrepreneur in South Korea, will talk on “How to Live with Me,” how to leverage on lessons learned from one’s mistakes. In Bali, Tim Wade, an award-winning global conference presenter from Singapore, will address “Empowering Personal Growth.”

In addition, international experts will discuss related topics such as handling infrequent but high-risk cardiac arrest events in the hospital, pediatric resuscitation, clinical governance, high-quality CPR for better ROSC (return of spontaneous circulation) rates, and success stories in implementing and improving resuscitation outcomes in different countries.

The conference attracts an audience of chief nurses, directors of nursing, clinical instructors, nurse educators, and senior nurse managers. Over 200 delegates are attending this year from the United States, Canada, Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Since its inception, APRNC has been sponsored by ZOLL, which works closely with the Resuscitation Council of Asia to organize and manage the event. Each year, a panel of international experts is invited to share their wealth of experience and how they have implemented resuscitation best practices in hospitals in their respective countries. APRNC is the largest conference focused on nurses and resuscitation. This year, it is hosted by Association of Anesthesiologist Specialist Doctors (PERDATIN), Association of Indonesian Emergency Doctors (PERDAMSI); and Indonesian Critical Care Nurse Association (HIPERCCI).
