Wisconsin Middle School Student Saved with CPR, AED Plus

AED Plus on school wall

January 11, 2011 - An 11-year-old Omro, Wisconsin girl who suffered a cardiac arrest was saved thanks to the quick action of three school employees. The middle school student collasped with a cardiac arrest, and her physical education teacher called the nurse and 911. The nurse performed CPR until the school custodian arrived with the school's automated external defibrillator (AED).

According to the American Heart Association, unless CPR and defibrillation are provided within minutes of collapse, few attempts at resuscitation are successful.
