ZOLL  to Showcase Expanded Cardiac Chain of Survival Solutions at 2010 NTI Conference and Exposition

May 13, 2010CHELMSFORD, MASS.– ZOLL Medical Corporation (Nasdaq GS: ZOLL), a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, today announced that it will display its full range of resuscitation products, including the R Series® Code-Ready® defibrillators with See-Thru CPR®, at booth #1649 at the 2010 National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition May 18-20 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

ZOLL’s innovative clinical resuscitation products strengthen the Chain of Survival with solutions for early intervention, early access, CPR, defibrillation, advanced life support, and post-resuscitation care.

Interactive displays will allow attendees to experience the benefits and ease of use of the technology:

  • The R Series Code-Ready defibrillators are designed to extend simple, smart and ready defibrillation to every hospital department through advanced, cost-effective solutions for resuscitation.  The original R Series ALS, and the newer R Series Plus, which has both AED and ALS capabilities at the touch of a button, offer See-Thru CPR, an industry-unique filtering technology that allows professional rescuers to view a patient’s underlying cardiac rhythm by filtering CPR artifact during resuscitation efforts.
  • The AutoPulse® Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump is an automated, portable device with an easy-to-use, load-distributing LifeBand® that squeezes the entire chest, improving blood flow to the heart and brain during sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).  The AutoPulse may offer a significant advantage over manual CPR, moving blood more consistently than human providers. The device delivers high-quality, uninterrupted chest compressions to maintain myocardial and cerebral perfusion.  Additionally, it offers the benefit of freeing up clinicians to focus on other life-saving interventions.
  • CodeNet® is the first software system that allows hospital teams to better document, manage, and review cardiac arrest event and resuscitation information. CodeNet brings new improvements and efficiencies in data capture, event time synchronization, and case and aggregate reporting. It is the only system that time stamps logged events and synchronizes these times with defibrillator data, providing clinicians with a complete and accurate timeline of an entire cardiac arrest event.
  • PocketCPR® is a palm-sized device that assists rescuers in the delivery of high-quality CPR. Using ZOLL’s Real CPR Help® to deliver real-time feedback, PocketCPR coaches rescuers to the correct depth and rate of compressions with audio and visual prompts.

New to ZOLL is Intravascular Temperature Management (IVTM). This product line offers health care providers the power and control they need to rapidly, safely, and effectively manage the core body temperature of critically ill or surgical patients.  The Thermogard XP® console and family of cooling/warming catheters work together to deliver accurate, easy-to-use, and cost-effective control for both cooling and warming applications.  The full line of IVTM catheters all provide central venous infusion capabilities.

ZOLL Sponsors Six CE Sessions in Booth 1649

In keeping with the Company’s vision to help improve resuscitation and increase survival rates, ZOLL will offer six 30-minute CE sessions conducted by leading nursing instructors at scheduled times during exhibit hours.  Session topics will include “Resuscitation Renaissance,” “In-Hospital Resuscitation & Implementation of the AutoPulse as Part of a Process Improvement,” “When Minutes Count—You Can’t Improve What You Can’t Measure,” “The Weakest Link—Improving the Cardiac Arrest Chain of Survival,” “Fever Prevention in Neurointensive Care—How Low Do You Go?”, and “Warm from the Core: Rewarming the Critically Ill Burn Patient, Trauma Victim and Accidental Hypothermia Patient.”
