ZOLL Medical Named One of America's Most Trustworthy Companies for 2nd Consecutive Year

ZOLL Among Only Three Medical Equipment Companies on Forbes Top 100 List

June 18, 2008CHELMSFORD, Mass.—ZOLL Medical Corporation (NasdaqGS: ZOLL), a manufacturer of resuscitation devices and related software solutions, was named one of America’s 100 Most Trustworthy Companies by Forbes for the second consecutive year.  Of the approximately 8,500 public companies reviewed to compile the list, ZOLL was one of the three medical companies listed on the Top 100.

This is the second year that Audit Integrity has provided Forbes.com with a list of 100 American companies that, by its assessment, have consistently released transparent accounting statements and follow conservative accounting procedures. According to Audit Integrity, these companies do not “play games” with revenue and expense recognition or asset valuation.  In the independent firm’s judgment, companies making this list "showed the highest degree of accounting transparency and fair dealing to stake-holders during 2007.”   The full report may be viewed at http://www.forbes.com or downloaded at http://www.auditintegrity.com.

“Inclusion on the Forbes list of most trustworthy companies is a meaningful recognition that demonstrates our strong commitment to management, governance and shareholder value,” said Richard A. Packer, ZOLL’s President and Chief Executive Officer.  “This award results from the fact that ZOLL employs the highest standards of quality in all aspects of our business.”

ZOLL’s innovative resuscitation products for treating sudden cardiac arrest, the world’s number one cause of death, have been instrumental in improving the quality of CPR and survival rates.  Examples include:

AutoPulse®, an innovative non-invasive cardiac support pump that automates chest compressions;

  • Defibrillators featuring Real CPR Help®, adding auditory and visual real-time feedback on the rate and depth of chest compressions to encourage high-quality CPR, to maximize blood flow;
  • LifeVest®, the world’s first and only  wearable external defibrillator
